Race Series

Below are details of the race series we have been involved with recently.

MSV F3 Cup

Previously known as BRSCC F3, Club F3 and prior to that ARP F3, MSV took over the promotion of this category in 2011 and has built grid sizes considerably, and is attracting both professional drivers and teams as well as privateer entries.

F3 Cup is for pure F3 cars and is split into three classes for different ages of cars.   Masters, Trophy and Cup.      F3 Cup has dispensation to run at low ride heights and we have to run on Sunoco fuel and new for 2015 Pirelli control tyres.    Unlike Monoposto there is little opportunity to deviate away from the base F3 specification.

For most rounds of the 2015 championship, there will be three races per weekend – a 15 minute qualifying session, two 15 minute sprint races and a 20 minute feature race split over two days except for 2, possibly 3 meetings which will have 2 races. The 2015 season will be held over 7 weekends, with one round to be held in Europe.

For 2015, the newer 2008-2011 generation cars are permitted.

Monoposto Racing Club

The Monoposto Racing Club caters for cars which are too old to be competitive in any modern series, but are not old enough to be eligible for  a Classic or Historic series.    There are a wide variety of classes permitting cars from Formula Ford, for motorbike powered cars, right up to Dallara or Lola Formula 3 cars.

Some drivers even choose to design and build their own car, whilst others use a commercial engine and chassis combination.   There is a real mixture of cars!

The Club is friendly and is currently the largest single seater racing club in the UK, and at the 2011 Britcar 24 meeting set a UK and possibly European record of 53 starters (Silverstone grid capacity 54), which was equalled in 2012.

Races are mostly double header weekends with races being generally 15 minutes long with seperate qualifying sessions of 15m each.   A Monoposto season is usually made up of 12 to 14 championship rounds, usually with a number of non-championship meetings during the season.

We have been running cars in Monoposto since 2007, winning championships in 2008, 2010 and 2011, also taking a 3rd in 2011 and a 2nd in 2012.
